In 2024, a family of four with two adult children experienced a house flood after a storm in Sylvania and sought temporary accommodation during the assessment and repairs of their home. The family spent several weeks between hotels and AirBNB properties in the initial weeks of their home insurance claim. This was not adequate as several family members studied and worked from home, their pets had to be housed in a kennel, and the experience of moving frequently was difficult.
